Ma ultimamente ci è stato fatto notare un requisito specifico di Telegram, che la rende unica, come app di messaggistica istantanea, rispetto alle varie alternative note (WhatsApp compresa).
Benchè inseriate un codice di blocco al vostro smartphone per l'accesso iniziale all'intero dispositivo, questo
non vi "salva" da occhi indiscreti, sia nel caso ci sia qualcuno che conosce tale codice, sia se vi arrivano notifiche dei nuovi messaggi quando lo smartphone è bloccato. Ma Telegram ci offre anche la possibilità di impostare un codice di blocco interno all'App, diverso (se vogliamo) da quello di accesso allo smartphone, in modo tale che nessun messaggio, nessuna notifica e nemmeno la schermata iniziale dell'app siano visibili senza aver immesso tale codice. Selezionando le IMPOSTAZIONI (rotellina in basso nella schermata iniziale di telegram) e andando sulle opzioni "Privacy e Sicurezza" (icona con lucchetto) si seleziona poi alla voce "CODICE - Touch ID": il Touch ID ovviamente sarà disponibile SOLO SUGLI IPHONE CHE HANNO QUESTO SISTEMA (chi ha un iPhone con il Touch ID potrà, se lo desidera, decidere di sbloccare con la propria impronta anche Telegram); chi ha altri smartphone o modelli di iPhone senza Touch ID potrà comunque inserire un codice di blocco a 4 cifre (meglio sceglierlo diverso da quello di accesso allo smartphone, ma dovete assolutamente ricordarvelo, o l'unico modo per riutilizzare telegram sarà disinstallare e re-installare l'App, e in questo caso non saranno recuperabili le vecchie chat "segrete" (quelle con i messaggi che si auto-distruggono, anche queste assenti da
